can the wrong glasses make your eyes hurt when watching television or driving?

Got new prescription reading glasses about six months ago and ever since my eyes have been felt strained a lot more often, especially when watching television or driving. I wear my glasses in work all day as i am on a pc all day, but don’tt normally wear them at home apart from when i am reading.
