I’ve hooked up my computer and tv with a VGA adapter and it works because i can see the desktop on the computer. But when i play the video through Windows Media Player or VLC Media Player it shows on my laptop but not on my television screen. The player is black on the tv. Anyone know how to switch settings or anything to be able to the see the video on the screen?

stjernekropp asked: Hi, everyone. I just bought an S-Video cable and connected it from my Dell Inspiron Vista laptop, to my RCA HDTV television. What I was trying to do was get the television screen to view what’s on my desktop, but I’m a bit confused on where to go after connecting the S-Video cable. Can someone tell me what I’m supposed to do after the connection, because I put on my television and there is no sign that it’s even recognizing the S-Video cable, in the computer and the television?
